Belt at Bang!

The first band on at the 2 monthly #Bang event night by #AlphaProcreative hosted at the #HairyDog was a brand new band to Derby called #Belt.

Belt was headed up by a female singer whose voice was so powerful and so pure that it genuinely took your breath away. Her vocals were added to by the bass player, who had a glorious, languid style. The guitarist was really good and right at the end of the set he did something that reminded me of the Telescopes, and set his guitar down leaving it to make it's own sound, but only for a short time!

The drummer was Ellie Longstride. God! She's good. The sheer concentration on her face is amazing with flashes of pure joy when it's all going right. She used a shaker and timpani mallets to make the drumming even more interesting. The keyboard player was excellent and right at the end of a song he hit some really low bass sounds which created a massive vibrational sound that passed through our bodies.

Jade and I looked at each other, grinned a massive grin and both knew that we'd seen something really good, really strong and well worth paying to see again!
