(* Trigger warning * ) In short, Jade became gradually more mentally unwell over the course of her twenties. Then in 2013 she experienced a Mental Health crisis and it was an awful time. There is a lot more to this story, but basically Jade was an inpatient at a facility in Derby where the staff worked miracles and after 3 months Jade was discharged home with us.
Our Story ( ..or at least some of it..)Jade used to go to music gigs in the early 2000s as a teenager." I used to go to Nottingham, Derby, London, Sheffield and Liverpool. I went all the time!" says Jade.
Hello, we are Julie and Jade, the women behind 'Hunting for Dopamine (... or a vibrational sound!)'.
Julie has combined type ADHD & depression.
Jade is waiting for an NHS neurodivergence assessment & has a severe mental health condition & OCD ( & no, it's not the cleaning up type!).
This blog is our way of sharing our experiences with music, neurodiversity, and mental health.
We are not experts on mental health by any means and would always urge you to find professional help if you need it.
